Breast Cancer Awareness Month - October

Breast Cancer Awareness - PinkDrive

It's breast cancer awareness month, and the drive show got the ladies from PinkDrive, Liz Labuschagne and Lize de Jonge, to talk to us.

Check out the audio below to hear what happened on the show, and to get some information on breast cancer.

Here are some pictures, demonstrating how to check for lumps. (thank you to our model, Nadine Moore)

1. Start with putting your arm above and behind your head as so:

2. Feel underneath your arm at the top of the breast for any lumps, or bumps using your index, middle and ring finger.

3. Move down to the side of the breast and feel for any lumps or bumps in the form of a 6.

4. Move around your breast continuously in a side to side motion feeling for any abnormal growths. Repeat this process but this time in a up down motion.

If you do come across any lumps, bumps or anything that concerns you, make an apointment with your doctor. Breast cancer is a cureable desease if detected and treated early enough.
